Getting Started in Pet Forest

From the first tree shake to a plot that actually pays.

Getting Started

Pet Forest is a released Roblox simulation tycoon by Caedyrn. The official pitch is three lines long: get pets from trees and plants, put those pets in your base to generate money, spend the money on better pets. This guide stretches those lines into a first-hour plan so you do not fill the plot with cute animals that earn almost nothing.

You will play on online servers with a five-player cap. Other people can walk your biomes, peek at your collection, and — later — offer clone targets. They cannot collect your income. If a friend wants to join, send the official place link, not a copycat listing.

Minute one

Launch the experience and let the tutorial finish. The HUD that appears afterward is the real game: inventory, index, placement mode, and a craft or event prompt when the otter wants ingredients. A “daily limit reached” toast means you already shook too many of one node today, not that the account is broken. Come back tomorrow or switch plants. Details live in How to Get Pets.

Turn off shift lock if you want to sprint more freely. The controls page lists rotate keys for decorations (R, and Q in some builds) so you do not learn them while a Heatwave is ticking down.

Build a paying plot before you decorate

Empty tiles do not earn. Place every pet you intend to keep, then sort with “most valuable in front” or “least valuable in front” until the high earners sit on the tiles you can see. The income planner is the worksheet version of that habit. Release or grind duplicates only after you screenshot anything you might need for the collection checklist or a community wiki contribution.

Decorations can wait. Presets and the Reset Shop are fun, but a pretty empty plot loses to an ugly plot packed with phoenixes. When you are ready to dress the island, use Base and Decorations.

First farm route

Start in the farm biome beside the bases. Berry bushes and cheap trees teach the interact prompt and fill the index with common species. When you have enough currency to walk farther, hit palm trees for milk, birch for butter, and cacti for chocolate. Those three ingredients feed the otter kitchen in Crafting and Luck. A Luck Potion is worth more than another common sheep.

Do not chase Elusive trees on day one unless weather is already up. Heatwave in the desert, Sugar Rush candy rolls, and Chromatic-boosted windows are covered in Elusive Pet Hunting. Burning a first Luck Potion on a quiet server is how people decide the game is “rigged.”

Mutations are outfits with math

Vampiric, Pirate, Candy, Steampunk, Angelic, and the live Alien coat change both look and value. Chromatic pets (the ones with a star that players call shinies) are the color variants. Extractors pull a coat off a duplicate so you can keep the shard. Read Mutations and Chromatic before you vacuum your only candy coyote.

Social systems you will meet early

Cloning Tools copy another player’s pet onto your account. They do not steal. Still ask, or at least understand the etiquette in Cloning Pets. Admin Abuse is announced as every two weeks; show up when the title bar or developer post says so, not when a random Saturday rumor says so. See Admin Abuse.

Codes are not part of the first hour. The Codes Hub is empty on purpose. Scripts are also unverified for this title; skip Scripts Hub until you understand the legal loop.

A clean first-session checklist

  1. Finish the tutorial and open the index once so you know it exists.
  2. Fill the plot with the best earners you own, not the cutest.
  3. Walk one full biome and note which trees you still cannot afford.
  4. Deliver at least one otter recipe if the event is up.
  5. Favorite the official experience so the next Alien-style title update reaches you.
  6. Tick new species on the checklist before you log out.

If you do only those six things, the second session starts with money already ticking. That is the whole point of a first-hour guide in a collector that never needed a code to function.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Pet Forest free to play on Roblox?

Yes. The experience is free. Robux buys convenience such as shop refreshes or clone shortcuts, not access to the base loop.

Why did I hit a daily limit so soon?

Some nodes cap how many times you can interact per day. Switch plants or biomes, or come back after reset.

Should I decorate or farm first?

Farm first. Decorations do not generate the same income as a full plot of high-value pets.

Can friends play on my server?

Yes. Online servers hold up to five players. Each person still earns on their own base.
